There's No Chapel In The World Like This One In Maryland

On the busy New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring, there is an odd little chapel hiding right in plain sight. Zoom by too fast, and you’d miss it completely.
According to
RoadsideAmerica , this tiny and unassuming building is a prayer stop for those in urgent need to pray.
This shack-like structure was built in 2002 by a member of the nearby Immanuel's Church. Allegedly, the man had a history of alcoholism and crime but had recently turned his life around. He wanted to build this special spot for those who wanted to pray but may feel intimidated by the thought of entering a large and crowded church.
The Prayer Stop seats 4 people and although it's not always open, you are always welcome to park your car, snap some photos, or pray right outside the building. This is no doubt one of the most unique places in Maryland, and the message behind it is quite remarkable.
Have you been to the Prayer Stop or do you know a little bit more about its history? Please share in the comments.
