  • Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park: (9220 Prison Hill Road, Yuma, AZ): This spooky place was only open for 33 years due to overcrowding. Despite a poor business plan, this former prison managed to house over 3,000 inmates, and 111 of those died during their incarceration. Visitors today will experience the history through a museum, a park, and a gift shop. But be warned, all is not friendly on these grounds with many reports of paranormal activity. A number come from the "dark cell" which was used as solitary confinement.
  • Hotel Vendome (230 South Cortez Street, Prescott, AZ): With the mining industry increasing housing needs, this lofty hotel was built in 1917. Along with the excitement of bringing in some cash, the walls also were witness to sadness. A woman named Abby Byr, a resident in the 1920s reportedly died in Room 16. Ever since, folks have seen her wandering the halls with her tiny cat, Noble. The Hotel Vendome website advertises that she is awaiting the return of her husband.
  • Lost Dutchman State Park (6109 N. Apache Trail, Apache Junction, AZ): Tucked inside the beautiful Sonoran Desert, this mysterious place is the subject of ancient folklore. It is said that a spirit called The Dutchman creeps around there. Reportedly a massive gold mine hides deep within the Superstition Mountains, and many who have tried to recover this treasure have disappeared or died. The Dutchman is said to try to destroy folks who get near the treasure today.
