One of the many amazing things about Louisiana is that we know our way around a kitchen. So many Louisianians grew up in the kitchen, learning recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation, and if we’re lucky, a few of them end up on menus at local restaurants. If you find yourself in the Sportsman’s Paradise region (northern Louisiana) then you have to pass through Herby-K’s, one of the oldest restaurants in the region and it’s home to some truly delicious, authentic Louisiana food.
It might not look like much from the outside, but Herby-K’s has been a local landmark since 1936.
Herby-K's is a no-frills, all-flavor type of joint. Casual and family friendly, Herby-K's is all about what's on the plate, and trust us, it's worth a road trip.
The Shrimp Buster was put on the menu in 1945 and it's been the most popular item ever since. It's like a shrimp po'boy, but so much better. The shrimp are butterflied before being fried to a golden brown and served with their signature Shrimp Buster sauce, coleslaw, and fries. If you like shrimp po'boys, you'll love this version.
