The Chef Behind the Curtain is a breath of fresh air. It’s located in a small town (and not easy to spot), tiny, chef owned and operated, and the food is phenomenal. It’s really no wonder that this place books up weeks (and even months) in advance.

Once known mainly for its antique shops, downtown Snohomish has really branched out in recent years, opening more boutiques, home furnishings shops, and restaurants.
This is not a large space—the dining area is quite small, but it feels cozy and intimate.
And since it's only open for dinner on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., you'll want to make your dinner reservation as far in advance as you can.
Chef Joel Childs uses local ingredients as much as possible—and for the PNW, that means lots of fresh seafood, produce, and house-made dressings and sauces.
Chef Childs wants to keep things as affordable as possible. Here, you can get an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $55. There are even bottles of wine that sell for around $20.
Needless to say, you should absolutely say yes to dessert at a place like this.
