While they are undeniably beautiful, peaceful places, cemeteries can also feel incredibly haunting — if not altogether haunted. One prime example is the historic Prospect Hill Cemetery in Virginia. Located in Front Royal, the Prospect Hill Cemetery is an iconic landmark and picturesque place for reflection. However, many reports indicate that it’s also one of the most haunted cemeteries in Virginia. Here’s more on why you may not want to visit this notorious destination on your own.
Located in Northern Virginia's Shenandoah Valley is a beautiful cemetery known as Prospect Hill. It's been a burial site since the mid-19th century.
When visiting the cemetery, you can't help but notice a profound sense of reverence. And, according to some accounts, you may even encounter something paranormal.
Several different stories suggest that there are at least two ghosts that visit this area. One is a woman dressed in 19th-century clothing who wanders the grounds of the cemetery.
So the next time you're visiting Front Royal and you're intrigued by the possibility of encountering something otherworldly, be sure to pay a visit to Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Please note that it's against the law to visit cemeteries after dark in Virginia unless you have permission or are visiting the site of a loved one.
