If you’re visiting the Niagara Falls area and are looking for a perfect nature walk that the whole family can enjoy then you’ll love the Goat Island Scenic Walk. This trail is popular, but it is very peaceful. On it, you will be surrounded by nature and you’ll get great views of the falls. It’s paved and is mostly flat, so it’s wheelchair and stroller friendly. You can even bring your dog along with you as long as you keep him or her on a leash. Many people believe that the Canadian side of Niagara Falls is the best side, but that's debatable. The United States' side of these famous waterfalls is wonderful as well, and you can see and enjoy so much from Niagara Falls State Park.
You can drive to Goat Island by taking the American Rapids Bridge, but you'll have to pay to park on the island. Alternately, you can walk to the island by taking the American Falls Pedestrian Bridge. On the way across, you can watch the water rushing below.
This trail is open all year so you can go in any season. It may be cold in the winter, but its especially beautiful when it snows. The trail is well-maintained by the park no matter what the weather.
When people think of Niagara Falls, most usually think of the big falls - American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls, but there are lots of other, smaller waterfalls to view as well, and Goat Island is the perfect place to see them.
After you're done with your hike on this trail, you'll be happy to know that there are several places on Goat Island where you can purchase food and beverages. There are plenty of restrooms on the island as well.
