One of the best things about Northern California is that it is home to some of the most amazing waterways: coastline, rivers, streams, bays, and California alpine lakes. It is just one of several lakes located in the Desolation Wilderness. Getting there is via a hike along the Meeks Bay Trail. Out-and-back it spans approximately 9.8 miles with spectacular views all around.
