Krebs is known as “Oklahoma’s Little Italy” and is rooted deep in Italian culture. When Oklahoma received statehood in 1907, almost half of the nearly 3,000 residents were Italian-Americans, so it’s only natural that Italian restaurants began popping up in town and the neighboring town of McAlester. The town of Krebs is located next to McAlester and is known as Oklahoma's Little Italy. It's known far and wide for its delicious Italian cuisine and you'll want to visit all of them if you love Italian food. The town is home to just over 2,000 residents and has a total area of only 3.4 square miles.
One of the most famous places in town is Pete's Place. It is the oldest Italian restaurant in Oklahoma still operating today. It started in 1925 and today it continues to serve its amazing Italian cuisine to guests.
They serve large, family-style portions of all your favorite Italian dishes, so be sure and bring your appetite. Menu items include chicken Alfredo, spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, Italian sausage, chicken parmesan, and more.
Another beloved restaurant in town is Roseanna's Italian Food. They have been serving savory Italian dishes since 1975 and have gained quite a reputation all over the state.
Roseanna's does not serve their food family-style so it's a great option if you're dining alone or with a guest. Their signature pasta sauce "Franks" is incredibly delicious and rivals the best in the country.
This little Italian town is home to its very own Italian food market - Lovera's Italian Market. You can buy all those hard-to-find items at this specialty market such as their homemade sausage, Italian cheeses, olive oils, and many other imported items.
