This Festival In Florida With Millions Of Colorful Lights Is Out Of This World
This extremely unique Chinese lantern sculpture festival visits only four cities in the world, and Tampa is one of them. Zoominations at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo provides a rare glimpse into the art and culture of another world with 30 gloriously glowing scenes from Chinese folklore strewn across 26 acres.
Millions of lights and unique materials have been hand crafted by artists from the Sichuan Province of China into incredible illuminated installations, from towers made of dinnerware to mythical creatures made of tiny bottles. Visitors will also delight in the Asian market, nightly performances, and special dining experiences on select nights.
Tickets for Zoomations are available on Lowry Park Zoo’s website for $24.95 for non-members. Alternatively, a zoo day/Zoomations combo can be purchased for $39.95. For those interested in just the lantern festival, there is also currently a Groupon for two tickets for $25, a real bargain for such a once-in-a-lifetime exhibit.
If you think you’d enjoy strolling through this supernatural wonderland, buy your tickets soon. The show runs Wednesday through Sunday, 7pm to 10pm, and the very last night will be June 28th.
