Running the entire length of the state, the route spans over 800 miles and will take about 14 hours to complete.
There’s no better way to start a day than with donuts. And there are no better donuts in Mississippi than those at TatoNut Donut Shop. Touted as "home of the only real donut," the shop has been around for decades and tends to get pretty busy in the mornings, which is why visiting early is a must.

2. Biloxi Lighthouse (Biloxi)

The Biloxi Lighthouse is one of the most photographed sites on the Gulf Coast; however, nothing compares to seeing it in person! Luckily, the 65-foot lighthouse is open for tours, allowing visitors to climb to the top and take in the stellar sights.

3. Natchez Bluff Trail (Natchez)

Just under one-half mile, the Natchez Bluff Trail is a three-tiered trail, running from downtown Natchez to the Under-The-Hill historic district. A great trek, it leads to two of the best natural wonders in Mississippi – the Mighty Mississippi and the iconic Natchez bluffs.

You can’t have the most "Mississippi" day ever without paying a visit to Dunn’s Falls, the tallest waterfall in Mississippi! Easily accessible, the 65-foot cascade is the centerpiece of Dunn’s Falls Park. The park also includes a picnic area with barbecue grills, historic gristmill, pond, hiking trail, and swimming area.
A great choice for a dining detour, Stamps Superburger is famous for its huge burgers and reasonable prices. But the burgers served at the Jackson icon aren’t just any burgers. They’ve actually been named some of the best hamburgers in the U.S.
Dating back to the 1850s, Glenwood Cemetery is one of the state’s most historic burial grounds. Its immense history isn’t the only thing that makes the cemetery intriguing, though. It’s also touted as one of the most haunted cemeteries in America, thanks to the vengeful witch who’s buried there.
Now a welcome center and museum, the former home of legendary playwright Tennessee Williams is a must-visit when in Columbus, which, by the way, is consistently revered as one of the best small towns in Mississippi.
The Elvis Presley Center draws more than 100,000 visitors a year! It’s not just a must-see for Elvis fans, though. In addition to the Elvis Birthplace and Elvis Presley Museum, the grounds include a park with a nature trail, lake, and small man-made waterfall.
9. Tishomingo State Park (Tishomingo)

Tishomingo State Park is consistently revered as the best state park in Mississippi, and that’s partly due to its unique terrain. Because of its location in the foothills of the Appalachians, its landscape is filled with waterfalls, rocky bluffs, and other features not commonly found in Mississippi.
