I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
There’s something quite fascinating about the Prairie State’s Amish country. Approximately 4,000 people make up the Amish community in Central Illinois and live simple lives that are far removed from the modern world. Visitors are welcome to get a taste of life by visiting the towns of Arthur and Arcola where you can enjoy exploring shops and restaurants. There’s even a cafe in Illinois’ Amish country called Broomtown Cafe that can be found in Arcola. Let’s have a look.
Have you ever visited this cafe in Illinois’ Amish country? Let us know in the comments if you have. To learn more, visit the Broomtown Cafe website and Facebook page.
