Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). If you’re looking for a beautiful place in Connecticut to get out and explore nature, we’ve got a real treat for you today! The Poquetanuck Cove Preserve is a secluded 234-acre refuge tucked away in Ledyard, just north of Mystic. It’s a peaceful spot that doesn’t get nearly as much traffic as our state parks and state forests do. However, it’s not lacking in scenery, both from the land and the water. It’s one of our favorite places for kayaking in Connecticut. The weather is warm and there’s so many recreational activities on the water in Connecticut, so get out there and explore!
