The longest pier in Minnesota is found at Dower Lake Recreation Area in Staples, Minnesota. This is in central Minnesota, about 140 miles northwest of Minneapolis and 30 miles west of Brainerd.

The recreation area is a lovely spot to spend an afternoon. It's a 54-acre park that has a softball area, a basketball court, and a disc golf course, as well as picnic areas, campsites, and a swimming beach.
