There’s nothing quite as delicious as a perfectly seasoned and tender cut of prime rib! One spot in Cheyenne has been serving up their famous steak since the 1940s, and it hasn’t changed much over the years. This time-tested recipe brings in foodies from all over to try it. So, what are you waiting for?
The Hotel Becker was built in 1905, and soon became the Hotel Albany. The hotel's restaurant and bar was known as the Depot Exchange Cafe, the Kabis Cafe, and the Stockman's Bar before embracing the hotel's name entirely.
In 1942, the Kallas family took over ownership, and then maintained it for decades. In 2021, the Bau family purchased the restaurant and plans to continue the time-honored traditions that have made this restaurant a Cheyenne landmark.
The secret to their success is the time-tested recipe. The Albany has been making their famous prime rib for so long, and it's been a favorite for generations.
While it's hard to call any steak perfect, the Albany's prime rib is about as close as you can get. Pair it with a baked potato for the most Wyoming-style meal you can find!
Don't forget to save room for dessert. There's always something being whipped up in the kitchen, like this Bailey's Cheesecake or a homemade pie. Your sweet tooth will thank you!
