The town of Cookeville, Tennessee was incorporated in 1903, and lies roughly 80 miles to the east of Nashville. It's the largest city in Putnam County and is known as a "micropolitan" area for its effective function as a regional economic hub.

One of the best things to do in Cookeville is to visit the Cookeville Depot Museum, known for its significant collection of Tennessee Central Railway history. The depot also boasts a handful of vintage train cars, like a 1912 Baldwin steam engine and even a classic red caboose.
