Today we're exploring Black Rock via the Appalachian Trail. This is an out and back hike located at South Mountain State Park in the Myersville / Boonsboro area.
Prepare to hike about 7.2 miles total for the day. Clear a few hours and bring plenty of snacks and water.
This trail is rated as moderate and includes plenty of things to see along the way. Prepare to encounter bridges...
...and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife. It's not uncommon to spot a deer or two.
You may also spot wildflowers and patches of fabulous ferns.
