Have you ever done something that you believed was humiliating? We’ve all been there. Here in Alabama, it’s quite easy to be humiliated, especially if you do one of the eight things listed below.
1. Failing to show great Southern hospitality.
Here in the South, especially in Alabama, showing great hospitality is so important, whether it's something as simple as a smile, a handshake, a wave, etc.
2. Planning an important event on a Saturday during football season.
It's no secret that football season is such an important time of the year in Alabama. This is also a time of the year people don't enjoy attending other events.
3. Believing Alabama isn't responsible for anything that's made a positive impact on our country.
Alabama has contributed many wonderful things to our country, and even world. For example, we're responsible for building the rocket that sent the first humans to the moon. Two of the world's greatest inventions also came from Alabama: air bags and windshield wipers.
4. Claiming our barbecue isn't the absolute best!
Sure, several other states are well known for their barbecue, but deep down, we all know the best is smoked right here in the Yellowhammer State.
5. Attempting to drive in the snow.
Unlike the northern states, Alabama is usually never prepared for snow and/or ice. Unless you have to be out in it, the best thing is to stay home.
6. Denying second helpings at family dinners.
And why would you? Nothing beats a home-cooked meal, especially when it's Grandma's cooking!
7. Attempting to purchase a lottery ticket.
Because lottery tickets aren't sold in Alabama, you must drive to a neighboring state to purchase one. Surprisingly, tourists still flock to our convenient stores to try and buy these tickets.
8. Claiming there's nothing to see and/or do here.
Despite what many people believe, there are several things to see here in Alabama. There are also many places to visit, including our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches.
