Indiana is a state that has plenty of stories, legends, and allegedly-haunted places to keep you up at night. From cemeteries said to be plagued by the tormented souls of the dead to national forests, parks, and lakes thought to be haunted in one way or another, one thing is for sure: the Hoosier State sure can be creepy when you know where to look. Previously, we’ve discussed the ghosts thought to haunt Potato Creek State Park; did you know, however, that if you’re brave enough, you can stay the night there? It’s true – the most haunted park in Indiana might just also be the most haunted campground in Indiana; come check it out and stay awhile… if you dare.
Potato Creek State Park is, by all means, absolutely beautiful - even during the coldest months of the year.
Camping is offered here year-round, and it's quite popular despite the... well... rumors.
Legend has it that more than one person has met a grisly end within this idyllic Indiana park, and although the exact number of decedents is not known, it is thought that many of the bodies of folks who died here are still located buried around the grounds.
Camping anywhere near the lake in the park, for example, might result in your being awakened by the sounds of children screaming and thrashing about in the water, but when you rush to save them, there will be nobody there.

The water will be still, and the woods will be silent... and that's about par for the course 'round here.
Folks camping overnight have also experienced bizarre things like electronics refusing to work, orbs, strange mists, disembodied voices, and so much more.
Of course, some folks will claim there's no such thing as ghosts, and that Potato Creek State Park and all its camping areas are spook-free... but that doesn't exactly explain the decades of ghost stories and tales of eerie and frightening occurrences on the grounds.
There are 287 electric campsites (well, if the spirits let you use the electricity, anyway), youth tent areas, and the aforementioned cabins to choose from.
Should you feel brave enough to wander around the park, you can take your pick of six different hiking trails of varying difficulty levels. Hikers have claimed to see shadows rushing between the trees, claimed to have heard voices whispering seemingly out of nowhere, and much more. Think you could handle it?
Some things in this life cannot be explained, and sometimes, you get to check those things out yourself.
