Oakland, Maryland, is found on the far western corner of the state, along the border of West Virginia. Pets are allowed after Labor Day until Memorial Day every year, so be sure to grab your pup and bring him along for this incredible experience as well.
Even without the waterfall, this hike would be worthwhile. Located in Swallow Falls State Park, the trees and forest are lovely to walk through, especially in the early morning and evenings.
The Swallow Falls State Park was established in 1906 and was developed throughout the 1930s. Today, there are 65 campsites in the park, in case you want to spend the night in this incredible section of forest.
