I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Kentucky has really come into its own on the culinary scene, earning the attention and acclaim we’ve long-known it deserved. Amazing new restaurants are opening all the time, and long-standing favorites continue to stand the test of time. Rich’s Proper Food & Drink is the perfect example of Kentucky’s culinary prowess, as this Covington gem brings a delightful mix of classic Bluegrass fare and Southern influences, for an accessible-yet-elevated (dare we say proper) dining experience. From your aperitif (which is bourbon, of course) to the final course, you’ll have the meal of your life at this unique restaurant in Kentucky.
Rich’s Proper Food and Drink is unlike any other restaurant in Kentucky. This Covington newcomer is on a mission to bring a “proper” touch of service to a casual, yet cozy, atmosphere.
The eatery opened in 2018, and has quickly become a standout for its incredible food, next-level cocktails, and wholly unique ambiance. Rich's operates out of a 100-year-old building formerly occupied by Rich's Gruen Watches, a high-end jewelry store.
While an amazing dining establishment in its own right, Rich's is, at heart, a bourbon bar. It's anchored by a team of experienced bartenders who really work to take guests on a spirited tour of the Bluegrass, through an array of inventive cocktails, craft beer, curated wines, and an expansive bourbon collection.
There are over 250 different bourbon offerings at Rich's, and you'll definitely want to start -- and even finish -- your meal by imbibing. When in Kentucky...
The kitchen is also well-known for their award-winning "Bluegrass Jambalaya" and fish and chips. If you're with a group (or even if you're not!), be sure to order a few different entrees to try.
Have you dined at Rich’s before? If so, we’d love to hear about your experience! Visit Rich’s Proper Food & Drink online to learn more and book a table at this amazing restaurant in the Bluegrass.
And if bourbon is your thing, definitely plan a night away at the Maker’s Mark homestead, which features the iconic family’s legendary bourbon collection!
