If you love old, Victorian-style houses, there’s a bed and breakfast in Texas with your name on it. Nestled in the heart of the East Texas Piney Woods, the Woldert-Spence Manor is a beautifully restored inn dating to 1859. With antique furniture and ornate stained-glass windows, staying here is like taking a step back in time. It might be the oldest and most charming bed and breakfast in Texas!
Welcome to the Woldert-Spence Manor, the oldest bed and breakfast in Tyler.
Guests have seven bedrooms to choose from, each one accommodating between two and three guests. There is also a carriage house, which features nearly 700 square feet of living space and reserved parking, available. Up to four people can sleep in the carriage house.

Antique furniture whisks you back to the days of yore, and either a queen or king-size bed is perfect for cozying up after a full day of bopping around town.
The amenities vary from room to room, but certain things, such as cable, Wi-Fi, and private bathrooms, are standard. Additional luxuries (in select rooms only) include in-room sitting areas, clawfoot bathtubs, and even private entrances.
Gourmet breakfasts are prepared for guests each morning, with offerings including omelets, frittatas, baked goods, fresh fruit, and other hearty selections. We can't imagine a better way to start the day!
The manor is gorgeous in every season, but there's something particularly magical about seeing it covered in snow.
Fall is also a great time to visit, as the large trees surrounding the house take on the most brilliant autumnal hues you've ever seen. In the spring, vibrant wildflowers, including Tyler's world-famous azaleas, bloom for all to see. Basically, what we're saying is there's no such thing as a bad time to stay here.
Address: 611 West Woldert Street, Tyler, TX 75702.
