The Mesa Arizona Temple is an architectural wonder that’s the closest thing we have to a palace here in the Grand Canyon State. It’s temporarily open to the public after three years of renovations, so you’ll definitely want to come and take a tour.
The Mesa Arizona Temple is the seventh operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was first dedicated in October 1927.
The 18,000-square-foot facility now includes an interactive play area for children, a museum-like community room with historical exhibits, and a teen lounge, among other exciting additions.
Over 500,000 guests descend on the temple each year for its annual Christmas lights display, which features a nativity scene and other beautiful decorations.
It's the largest outdoor Easter pageant on Earth, attracting over 75,000 people each year. For the most accurate information regarding both events, be sure to check the temple's website frequently.
Even after the open house, the public is welcome to stroll the newly redesigned grounds.
The perfectly manicured landscape features an expanded reflection pool, more than 300 olive and palm trees, and myriad other greenery and colorful flowers.
The open house runs through November 20, from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. One-hour time slots can be reserved online at no charge.
