Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Montana has more than its share of haunted places, from hotels to entire towns. Whether or not you believe in ghosts, there’s no denying that plenty of people have had paranormal experiences here. And while you may or may not see some spooky spirits at the Copper King Mansion, one thing is certain: you’ll have a wonderful, relaxing stay.
The Copper King Mansion is located on West Granite Street in Butte, where it has been since construction was finished in 1888.
The mansion was built for William Andrews Clark, one of Montana's three famous Copper Kings. The Copper Kings were the three local industrialists who waged epic battles over control of the local copper mining industry.
The Copper King Mansion has been privately owned, operated, and occupied by the Cote family since 1953.
Many people also feel a very cold presence hanging out in the game room. Doors have occasionally been known to open and close on their own -- and there was once an incident where a locked trunk in the attic opened all on its own.
Of course, only circumstantial evidence suggests the mansion is haunted.
