Indiana is one of those Midwestern states that is just a little bit spooky all year ’round. It’s the perfect place for cider, pumpkin patches, and, of course, haunted houses. And what do you know? The Hoosier State just so happens to be filled with creepy places that are said to be overrun with ghosts and the paranormal, just waiting to be checked out by curious bystanders. One such spooky place is the old Culbertson Mansion, a gorgeous multi-room home built in the late 1800s that’s known not just for its intriguing history but also for its more otherworldly residents.
The mansion was built by William Culbertson, a man who'd come from Pennsylvania to Indiana to seek his fortune with great success.
Inside the house are an array of stunningly beautiful, hand-painted ceilings, a breathtaking hand-carved staircase, glitzy marble fireplaces, and plenty of other hallmarks of specialized design that lend themselves to a perfectly eerie atmosphere.
