Pete’s Place located just outside of McAlester is Oklahoma’s oldest and many say “best” Italian restaurant. Pete’s Place is still going strong after nearly 100 years and shows no signs of slowing down. The signature yellow building and green front door let you know you have found the right place. If you love Italian food you simply must make the trip to Pete’s and indulge in a home-cooked meal that tastes like you are sitting in Italy.
Pete's Place is located at 120 Southwest 8th Street in the tiny town of Krebs, Ok. Pete's Place is open from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday through Friday and from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
Whether you are young or old, you are bound to have this reaction when you eat at Pete's. The portions are large and the food is authentically Italian and tastes amazing.
One lesser-known fact about Pete's Place is that several years ago they started their own brewery which has become extremely popular. Choc Beer is sold throughout the region and is brewed on-site.
The brewery has become so popular that they offer tours once a month that occasionally bring large crowds. Be sure and call ahead for times and availability.
Pete's Place is one restaurant where you do not want to skip dessert. You owe it to yourself to try the rice pudding with warm homemade strawberry jam.
I bet you didn’t know that you were only a few minutes outside of Italy. Okay, maybe not literally but when you dine at Dalesandro’s, you’ll really feel like you are dining in the country of Italy. From the sights and sounds inside the dining room to the authentic aromas coming from the kitchen, this hidden gem is a real treat.
