What’s the best part about fall? Many would say it’s seeing all the gorgeous, colorful leaves in New Jersey. Of course, knowing when and where to spot the best leaves is a bit difficult. They change quickly! Luckily, SmokyMountains.com has offered a 2021 Fall Foliage guide for leaf peepers across the country.
It's difficult to deny that fall in New Jersey is beautiful. Sure, the lush greenery of summer is gorgeous. But the colorful leaves are just so eye-catching!
Sorry, other seasons. You have your special moments, too!
So, we used SmokeyMountains.com's 2021 Fall Foliage Map to determine when and were we could find New Jersey's peak foliage.
SmokeyMountains.com is a travel brand that focuses on the Smoky Mountain region and hosts
travelers in absolutely amazing Gatlinburg cabins. They focus on giving travelers a luxe experience they won't forget.
The leaf map, like any forecast, can't be 100 percent accurate. That being said, SmokeyMountains.com has been publishing the map for almost a decade now.
The company has stated it's confident in its predictions. We'll take it!
So, this year it looks like the tip of northern New Jersey will hit its peak around October 11.
Exciting! It's not surprising, either. Northern New Jersey typically sees leaf color change earlier than other places.
By October 18, most of the rest of the state will have its peak — minus parts of southern New Jersey.
A small fraction of the state will have to wait a bit longer.
Those places in southern New Jersey will see the peak occur around October 25.
Sure, they have to wait a bit longer. But by then, the rest of the state will have moved past peak, so they'll get to enjoy a color explosion while the rest of us are moving on to winter chill.
Here’s the map so you can see for yourself.
Play around with it so you can see just when to expect the fall foliage peak in your area.
