Here in Nashville, there are so many options it may seem a bit overwhelming, but we have one answer for you: Yayo’s OMG. The OMG stands for, “original Mexican gourmet,” and this green and black food truck has been serving up delicious eats here in the city since 2011. Learn more about it below, and we’d recommend following along as they bop around the city. Your tastebuds haven’t been on an adventure quite like this before!
If you've ever stumbled across Yayo's OMG food truck here in the city of Nashville, you've most likely recognized it by its mile-long line and unmissable green and black paint job. Don't let the folks in line dissuage you, though...
...Yayo's can serve up a quality taco REAL fast. Described by Chef Yayo, the owner and visioner, Yayo's OMG is "vintage Mexican cuisine with a modern twist," and it's become known as one of the pioneer food trucks in the city.
Yayo's OMG partners with locals to source fresh, quality ingredients to include in every taco. That means you'll not only be noshing on a delicious plate of tacos, but they'll be stuffed with local meats and produce. It doesn't get any fresher than that, folks.
The cult-favorite food truck has also been featured on national television, so you may have seen it make an appearance on the Food Network's, "Eat St." Yayo's is also featured in the "Eat St. Cookbook."
So what's on the menu, you ask? Expect lightly fried mahi mahi, shrimp, brisket, chorizo, and even steak to make an appearance on your soft corn tortilla tacos. Extras includes sides of beans, and chips and salsa.
Classic OMG tacos are 3 for $8.49, and you can choose from a variety of meats and either roja or verde salsa by request. You can also ask to customize a quesadilla or "toztada" if you'd rather go for something a little different.
The line can get long, but we promise: these tacos? Are well worth the wait! If you're looking for a local take...don't skip the churro bites. The cinnamon-sugar dusted bites of deep fried deliciousness are way too good to forget.
