Michelle's life is a colorful map of exploration and adventure. From the iconic streets of New York to the sunny shores of Florida, the jagged coast of Maine to the rugged terrain of Montana, she's been fortunate to call some of America's most beautiful states home. Beyond the U.S., Michelle's wanderlust has taken her on a motorcycle journey through India, led her to teach English in Hanoi, and saw her studying Spanish in Guatemala. Michelle graduated with a communications degree from the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and in addition to a career in advertising has worked with OnlyInYourState since 2016, where her love for travel and storytelling converges. Alongside writing and exploring, Michelle finds joy in photography, staying active, and time with her family.

Let’s set the scene! You’ve got a full day to yourself. The sun is shining. Maybe there’s a summer breeze or maybe it’s the kind of fresh breeze that comes through on an unseasonably warm day in the fall. Either way, all you want to do is get outside! There are lots of trails to explore, but you’re not quite in the mood for anything strenuous. That’s when this short and sweet hike should be on your to-do list!
The Cataracts Trail can be accessed throughout the year, but we love it most in the spring, summer, and fall. The trail is part of the Mahoosuc Public Lands surrounding Grafton Notch State Park. You can learn more about the route and see a map by visiting either alltrails.com or Maine Trail Finder.
