Here Are 21 Silly Street Names In Pennsylvania That Will Leave You Baffled
Pennsylvania has some awesomely weird town names (Intercourse, Blue Ball, Virginville…) but we’re pretty darn good at naming streets as well.
We went on the hunt for some of the best streets in PA and found hundreds of list-worthy names; here are 21 of our favorites. Some just make us giggle, some have strong roots in history…and a few could probably be used as a “pronunciation test” for true Pennsylvanians!

This redundant road sounds like it should be a part of an old "Who's On First" bit...and the confusion is only made worse by those arrows. Which way do I go? Is this a street or a road?

This one is a true test for whether or not someone is a native Pennsylvanian. "Pa-shunk"...try again. "Pass-ee-yunk"... nope. It's "Pash-shunk."

This Lenape word translates to "pigeon droppings"...why it was honored with a street name is anyone's guess.

This perfectly placed street is lined with student apartment buildings at Lehigh University. Duh.

Sure, there used to be an actual axe factory here...but can you imagine how complex giving out your address must be? "That's Axe Factory... A-X-E..."

With so many historical names to choose from, we wonder why this neighborhood chose to borrow from British literature. Nonetheless, it would be pretty awesome to live here.

This street is named after Wingahocking Creek, but also leaves visitors asking "Winga-what?"

Yes, we know "tauntaun" isn't spelled right...but we prefer to imagine a Star Wars fan named these streets.

This name comes from a Native American word meaning "where we go to drink" (referencing the Schuylkill River) but it's a tongue-twister for tourists AND anyone stumbling out of the local pub.
