Small town restaurants all over South Carolina are steeped in local community traditions. In the small city of Easley (population, about 21,000) the cultural icon found on East Main Street and known as Joe’s Ice Cream Parlor has been delighting generations of Easley residents for decades.
Since 1972, Joe's has served up ice cream and more, day in and day out. And today, grand parents and even great-grand parents are taking the littles in their family for sweet treats just like they had when they were younger.
Joe's is famous for its hand-dipped ice cream in a variety of flavors.
From small bowls to great big servings, the cool and creamy dessert here comes in single scoops, double scoops and pint servings. Milkshakes are popular, too!
But if you really want to splurge on your calorie count for the day, you'll order up one of Joe's famous banana splits! They're so big, they take up an entire dinner plate.
And they are nearly as tall as they are wide! Nothing beats a delicious banana split. But ice cream isn't the only food Joe's has been plating up all of these decades...
The extensive food menu includes two full pages of options, including salads, soups, nachos, dinner plates (chicken strips, shrimp, hamburger steak, flounder), and sandwiches and jumbos (burgers, pork tenderloin, BLT, bologna, and more).
Don't pass up the chili cheese fries smothered in chili. And be sure to hop on the bandwagon for one of Joe's legendary hot dogs!
The hot dogs at Joe's are so famous, the restaurant celebrated crossing the threshold of selling six million hot dogs back in 2017.
That's a LOT of hot dogs!
