If you’re looking for a cool hike on a hot day, the Liberty Falls Trail in Alaska is the place you’ll want to be! This stunning spot is located right outside of Chitina, Alaska. This is one place on the Edgardton Highway that you’ll have to pull over and explore.

There’s a great hike in the Liberty Falls State Recreation Site that you have to visit.

It’s called the Liberty Falls Trail, and it takes you up the mountainside and above a waterfall to see stunning panoramic views of the area around you.

While the beginning is steep, it soon levels out and becomes very pleasurable to hike. The entire trail is only 2.3 miles long, out and back, and ends at a beautiful lake.
The elevation gain is only 538 feet, but it’s all at the beginning so it feels steeper than it is.
