Summer activities are endless in Boise, Idaho. Hiking, camping, stargazing, and state parks are all just a short drive away. However, one of the summer’s most beloved activities can be enjoyed without even leaving town! Floating the Boise River in the summer is a time-honored tradition for Idahoans. With the help of Boise River Outdoor Opportunities, you can enjoy a relaxing adventure on the river like no other. This new scenic raft trip is a great way to enjoy the river and its peaceful beauty, so don’t let summer pass you by without trying it for yourself.
Running right through the heart of downtown Boise, the Boise River is the source of endless beauty and adventure. Boise River Outdoor Opportunities presents a unique chance to take on the river for a relaxing afternoon of exploring its waters.
Owned and operated by Adam Bass, Boise River Outdoor Opportunities (BROO) is dedicated to educating people about the history, biology, and botany of the Boise River. To do so, they recently started offering nature raft trips on the river's low-key waters.
The scenic raft trip is a 3-hour adventure and it's open to groups of up to seven people. The half-day excursion presents an awesome opportunity to learn all about the river's stunning habitat. It's also just a ton of fun!
The Boise River is typically pretty tame in the summer - perfect for a lazy afternoon of floating. Plenty of people opt for a self-guided float from Barber Park to Ann Morrison Park, but this guided experience allows you to see a stretch of the river that goes beyond that section.
The new tour starts at Ann Morrison Park and ends at Westmoreland Park by the Glenwood Bridge. Shuttle transportation and equipment (raft, paddles, helmets, life jackets, dry bags, and snacks) are provided, so all you have to do is show up ready to get wet and have some fun on the river.
If you're lucky, you'll even get an up-close look at some of the river's diverse wildlife. Blue herons, beavers, minks, osprey, and eagles are all commonly sighted along the Boise River, so keep your eyes peeled.
Start your summer off with an incredible experience on the Boise River! This scenic raft trip costs $50 per adult and $40 per child under 12. Learn more and reserve your trip on the
BROO website.
