Anyone who has ever hiked through Medicine Bow National Forest in Wyoming can attest to the beauty and wonder of the region. Not only will you find towering peaks, gorgeous wildflowers, meadows, and trees that seem impossibly tall… but if you know where to look, you’ll also find quiet and underrated trails that will take you to otherworldly rock outcroppings. One such trail is the Reynolds Loop!
This stunning hike starts off on a forest road, which makes for easy walking. As you continue, you'll pass through forests of towering pines and quaking aspens, and you'll end up following a creek until you reach the remarkable rocks.
The rocks are part of the Vedauwoo region, which is home to some of the oldest rocks on the planet! This playground is a popular spot for hikers, climbers, scramblers, and boulderers to have a great day out in nature.
This lightly-trafficked loop trail is less popular than Turtle Rock, so chances are you'll have it all to yourself! Wander around for about four miles before you find yourself back at the trail head and ready to head home for the day.
