If you grew up in New Castle County, chances are you’ve spent a good bit of time at the famous Dairy Palace ice cream stand. Of course, then, you don’t need me to tell you exactly how great this legendary stand is! However, a big portion of our state rarely travels up here, and so, for them, let’s chat about this legendary sweet stop.
In 1956, the Parker family bought the ice cream parlor, and it has remained in their family ever since! When Dairy Queen wanted to update the shop to match their national standards in 1970, the Parkers bought out their franchise and kept it as their own spot, just as it had been for years.
Don't worry, this delicious frozen treat is worth waiting for. There's a reason everyone flocks to Dairy Palace!
