Springtime in New Mexico brings more than new flowers and warm weather. It can also bring wind, excitement, contests, and lots of colorful kites. The 18th Annual Kite Festival at the Wildlife West Enhanced Zoo and Nature Park in Edgewood is where you want to be on May 1-2, 2021. You’ll fall in love with all of the colors, shapes, and designs that will soar through the sky, and who knows, you may even become a kite-flying pro.
The Kite Festival is the perfect family event and features activities that all ages will enjoy.
All attendees are welcome to bring their own kites or they can purchase one at the event. If you don’t want to fly your own kite, that’s not a problem. Come and watch professional stunt kite flyers execute amazing tricks that will make your jaw drop.
Don’t forget to sign up for the kite flying contests. Prizes will be given to the winners. You can also shop at one of the many vendors and food booths at the festival as well.
The Wildlife West Nature Park features 122-acres of custom-built habitats for animals that were in accidents or rescued and can no longer live on their own.
Admission to the kite festival at the Wildlife West Nature Park is free. However, there are fees for adults, seniors, and students into the zoo. All children under the age of five are free.
