When the weather is just right and things feel relaxing, New Hampshire certainly feels like a break from the rest of the world. In fact, some days just going about our daily routine causes us to step back and think about just how grateful we are that we live here. But day-after-day things can begin to feel a bit uninspiring. And for those moments we like to think about fun things we can do right here at home. When you feel the itch to explore consider going on vacation in New Hampshire by choosing one (or a few!) of these trips.
Anyone how loves the quaint aspect of New Hampshire will love this road trip! While it's best suited for those who don't mind some time in the car, the trip is beautiful even aside from the bridges so the drive will certainly fly by. The route travels north to south (or the other way around!) and there are tons of lovely bed and breakfasts to visit along the way. You can learn more about it by checking out this article.
The longest in New Hampshire, the scenic gondola ride at Loon Mountain in Lincoln offers breathtaking views that you just can't find anywhere else. Plan on spending the weekend to take in the slopes during the winter or enjoy nearby hikes in the spring through fall. You can learn more about the gondola ride here.
This fan-favorite is a must-visit when you're in New Hampshire. Take the auto road to the top for a visit when it reopens or, if you're among the hearty, hike to the top. Either way the views can't be beat and the trip is worth it. Plan to spend some time in North Conway to see the rest of town and enjoy some local eats. Check out this article to learn more.
While you're in the area, be sure to add in a trip to the top of Mount Washington on the famous train! From April through November this three-hour tour offers tons of history and some seriously amazing views. Learn more about it here.
You don't need to have a destination in mind to make a fun vacation. Sometimes just heading to a new part of the state will offer a fresh perspective on life here. For that, we recommend scenic and quaint Jackson. There's a beautifully quaint covered bridge, but don't forget the skiing, waterfalls and hiking trails here. The White Mountain location makes it perfect for exploring the state's natural landscape. You can learn more about the town here.
What could be more lovely than a weekend in the country, not far from Lake Winnipesaukee? This beautiful winery offers a great way to explore the Lakes Region while sampling some of the tasty wine that comes straight from the grapes grown here. It's also sure to be a hit among those who are fans of the 1954 novel "Peyton Place" as it's set right here. You can learn more about visiting right here.
There's no better way to celebrate New Hampshire than by heading to one of our favorite state parks! This beauty offers hiking trails, waterfalls and tons of views. Plan on camping or staying in a small local hotel nearby.
