There’s no place like home! While it’s fun to try new places and eat new dishes, sometimes we crave the taste of delicious comfort food without the fuss. The kind that takes us back to our childhood when life seemed a lot less complicated and our biggest challenge was figuring out what flavor of ice cream we wanted most. JK’s Restaurant, “Home of the Original Texas Hot Weiners” still serves the feelings of home that our inner child craves.
From the outside, JK's Restaurant looks like any other family diner. The casual atmosphere and friendly service are what make this restaurant so comforting. Whenever you come back for a visit it's like you're visiting an old childhood friend.
Originally named Original Texas Hot Weiners by Peter and George Kuokos in 1924, JK's has always been the place to get good food without breaking the budget. In the 1930s, you could spend a quarter to warm your stomach up with two weiners and a hot cup of coffee.
These days you can still enjoy the taste of those famous weiners at JK's Restaurant with its yummy sauce. For a few cents extra, you can add your favorite extra toppings, such as cheese, jalapeno, cole slaw, bacon, and, of course, chili.
JK's also offers fabulous breakfast and lunch selections such as sirloin steak, poached eggs, silver dollar pancakes, grinders, hamburgers, club sandwiches, and even more.
You'll definitely do a double take when you read the menu. The affordable prices and generous portions will take you back to a more simple time.
The seasoned curly fries are another reason to visit JK's. They make a perfect side or get them special with Monterey Jack cheese and bacon bits.
What would comfort food be without a tasty dessert to follow up? Enjoy Grapenut custard, a dish of ice cream, chocolate pudding, or a good hunk of pie. Make sure you get an after dinner coffee. JK's has some of the best coffee around!
From weiners and old-fashioned milkshakes to memory-making breakfasts and tasty desserts. What are your memories of JK’s Restaurant?
