What is one of the weirdest places to visit in Texas?
There are many unique things to see in Texas, including some that are quite weird. Of all the weird places in Texas, many people travel from near and far to see a peculiar 1800s gravesite in Aurora Cemetery. Outside of the graveyard, there's a plaque that mentions it might contain the grave of the pilot from the "spaceship" that crashed on a nearby farm on April 17, 1897. The spaceship hit a windmill and was shattered to pieces. The pilot was "not of this world" and many believed he was an alien. There used to be a stone that marked his grave, but it's no longer there. To check and see who this person was, many have wanted to have his body exhumed. However, only the next of kin can make that request. To learn more about what happened, you'll want to watch the 1986 movie The Aurora Encounter. It was based on the event.
