There really is no competition for Georgia as the best state in the country. We have the beautiful views, the kindest people and the most delicious food. But there are also quite a few things that Georgia statistically beats every other state in. We’re talking cold, hard facts that you can use the next time someone claims their state wins over Georgia. Take a look:

The very first steamboat nicknamed "Savannah" crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 1818. The vessel was purchased by a shipping company in Savannah, Georgia, and was constructed there until being shipped to Washington D.C. for its voyage.

Georgia is the number one producer of peanuts in the United States, producing over 1.5 billion pounds in 2008 alone.

Georgia was the first state to have a Gold Rush in the country. It occurred in 1828 in Auraria, near the city of Dahlongea.

Georgia is the country's largest supplier of pecans, accounting for about 1/3 of the entire U.S. pecan production. An average pecan harvest in Georgia is around 88 million pounds, which is enough to make 176 million pecan pies. Sounds delicious.

Georgia was the first state to sell Coca-Cola. In May 1886, Dr. John S. Pemberton created the popular soft drink. It was then first sold at a soda fountain in Jacob's Pharmacy in Atlanta.

In 2014, CNBC named Georgia the Top State for Business due to economy, infrastructure, workforce, business friendliness, among many other factors.

Wesleyan College in Macon was the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women.

Of course, because it's the Peach State! Georgia has two primary peach-growing regions. The central region is the largest with about 1.6 million peach trees, accounting for 75% of the entire state's production.

Georgia is ranked number one in labor climate, which references availability of skilled labor, competitive labor costs, labor climate for right-to-work states, labor climate for non-right-to-work states, and leading workforce-development programs.

OK, maybe not technically ranked number one for Chinese food in the country, BUT there is a Number One Chinese Restaurant (that is indeed the name) in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and that counts for something.
