If you love delicious dairy products, you’ll want to ‘moo’ve yourself on over to Kalona, Iowa. Here you’ll find the Kalona Creamery, a dairy factory that has produced outstanding cheese, butter, and more since 1946.
The creamery has a big fan base. In fact, in 2014, when it closed due to increased regulatory requirements, fans started a #savethesqueak campaign. The creamery opened back up a year later and it hasn’t looked back. Here’s what you need to know about this delectable dairy destination.
The creamery is located about 15 miles southwest of Iowa City. It’s open Wednesday-Saturday and it also offers tours, by appointment only. If you love made-in-Iowa farm-fresh foods, you should check out this farm with the world’s freshest jam.
