The area’s history is also intriguing, as the park sits on the former site of a lumbering town known as Deer Park. This community thrived during the 1880s before supply diminished.

Prior to its time as a lumber hotspot, the land also housed indigenous populations who resided along the waterfront. When you visit, you’ll notice a palpable sense of history here.

While most remnants of the park’s past are long gone, guests might still spot a white pine log or two in the water. Today, its natural beauty and shoreline splendor steal the show.
