Considering that Delaware is on the complete opposite coast from L.A. and Hollywood, but still within a few hours drive from New York City, our celebrity spotting tends to be limited to concerts and special events. But some of the things locals love about the state, like our beaches, do cause some famous faces to pop up around town.
Here are some places in five areas of the state, where you can best try your luck at a selfie with a celeb.
1. The Beaches (usually Rehoboth and/or Dewey)
If there's one celebrity who isn't from Delaware, but comes here a lot, it's David Grohl, former drummer for Nirvana and current front man for Foo Fighters. The beaches draw all sorts of celebs trying to take a chill vacation among the mere mortals.

The Grand Opera House is most well known for its symphony and musical performances but also hosts comedy shows, with appearances from Amy Schumer, Artie Lange, and Lewis Black.
The up and comer in the crowd, World Cafe Live at the Queen opened in 2011, after renovations to the original structure. This intimate space has great food and great spaces for music. This will surely start to grow as a place to see celebs, beyond those who perform on stage.
The Playhouse Theater / Facebook
The Playhouse Theater on Rodney Square is located in the Hotel DuPont, and both are great places in Wilmington for celebrity sightings. Catch a concert or a show with famous stars, or catch a famous star coming to see a show.

Dover International Speedway hosts two main NASCAR weekends a year, drawing not just celebrity drivers, but other VIP NASCAR fans, retired drivers and supporting musical acts.
The Woodlands behind Dover International Speedway is home to the Firefly Music Festival. Celebrities to spy aren't just on stage, but hanging out in the VIP areas.
