Igloo dining has increased in popularity this year across the nation… but, much like with social distancing, it’s been a trend in Montana for quite awhile. For the past several years, the Highlander Beer Tap House has been offering large luxury igloos for private parties to enjoy. But these are far from your standard run-of-the-mill micro tents. They’re so spacious and elegant, you’ll feel like you’re in your own private snow globe.

Highlander Beer is currently located at 200 International Drive in Missoula.

But, as with most things in Montana, its history goes back much further. The first Missoula Brewing Company was founded in 1890 by Joseph Wagner who, after getting permission from the New York Highlanders, brewed the first batch of Highlander Beer in 1910.
Highlander Beer survived prohibition, but the brewery closed in 1964.

But it re-opened in 2015, receiving a warm welcome from the Missoula community.
Every winter, the team rolls out the large, luxurious private igloos and sets them up outside.

As you might imagine, it feels positively magical to sip local beer inside a private heated snow globe as snow falls softly from the sky.

Groups of six or less are welcome to reserve them for up to three hours.
In addition to serving some of Montana's favorite beer, this place is well-known for their tasty pizza.

Pizza and beer make the perfect pairing, and you can have them both inside your igloo.
When you make your reservation, choose between two packages. .

For just $35, you can rent the igloo for three hours and have full service. But if you shell out $80 for the Pizza in the Igloo package, you'll also get a delicious pizza, a large family-style salad, and an order of chips and salsa to share.
This has been an odd year, and quite frankly, you deserve a little holiday cheer.
