Oregon is known for its artsy cities, dense forests, stunning landscapes and, of course, for being at the end of the Oregon Trail. 12. Oregon is home to a whopping 152 breweries. Plus, Portland has more microbreweries than any other city in the world. That's a lot of beer.
7. In 1938, about 70 pairs of 10,000 year old sandals were found in a cave in central Oregon. It took 70 years for researchers to realize they had found the oldest shoes in the world!
6. The (now defunct) North American Wildlife Research Team erected a Bigfoot trap in the Siskiyou National Forest in 1974. It was kept baited with animal carcasses for six years.
