Nothing helps usher in the most wonderful time of year quite like a steamy mug of hot cocoa. It’s the beverage of the season, perfect both for cozy nights by the fire and strolling through dazzling Christmas light displays. Scoops on the Square in Lockhart has revolutionized the classic holiday drink with their new hot chocolate bar. From gingerbread syrup to crushed peppermint to pumpkin spice whipped cream, there are so many ways to customize your cup.

Nestled in historic downtown Lockhart, Scoops On The Square is the small central Texas town's newest ice cream shop.
From chocolate chips to crushed peppermint to flavored syrups, there's truly something for everyone. How does a gingerbread hot cocoa with bourbon brown sugar sound? Please note: one mix-in is included with the price of the hot chocolate, but any extras are 50 cents a piece. Finally, top it all off with either marshmallows or whipped cream (available in pumpkin and peppermint flavors, too!) and, for an additional $1, a chocolate or peppermint spoon.
Once your fingers and toes are slightly less frozen, perhaps you'll be in the mood for some ice cream, after all.
The options are truly endless. If you want the full Scoops experience, "The Lion" is their signature sundae. This behemoth features a scoop each of chocolate, cookies 'n cream, and vanilla ice cream, plus angel food cake, peanut butter sauce, chocolate and caramel syrups, crushed oreos, chocolate wafers, and whipped cream. Just wait 'till you take a bite of this decadent concoction!
Scoops is committed to keeping both guests and employees safe during the pandemic.
Plenty of outdoor seating is available, so you can stay safe and enjoy an unparalleled view of the stately Caldwell County Courthouse located right across the street.
Scoops on the Square is open from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday. Visit the shop’s Facebook page to learn more.
