Sometimes, good food with no frills is worth a trip out of town. Julio’s Family Restaurant, located in Kankakee where the Iroquois and Kankakee rivers meet, is one such place that’s worth the trip. A seriously underrated dining destination, when you’re craving diner food done right, Julio’s is where you want to go.
We're big believers in the idea that tucked-away restaurants have some of the best grub around. Julio's Family Restaurant captures that hidden-gem vibe, but also has ample outdoor seating for guests.
One of Julio's main selling points is that it serves breakfast all day. For some places, that means sticking to a stripped-down breakfast to spare them some trouble. At Julio's, no such nonsense occurs.
In fact, the best thing about Julio's might be that its traditional diner spirt hasn't tempered its enthusiasm for variety. The rotating specials here will have you coming back every day of the week (not that you wouldn't want to already).
There are certain days where there’s nothing like taking a drive to get your snack on. When that driving urge hits you, or if you’re lucky enough to live local, don’t sleep on Julio’s. Enjoy a scenic drive to Kankakee for the heavenly combination of burgers and breakfast food you deserve.
