Spanning 43.6 miles through the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, there’s a lot to see along the Tanglefoot Trail. But it’s not just incredible natural scenery you’ll find on the trail. The Tanglefoot Trail winds through several small towns, including Algoma, which is where you’ll find a quaint country store that serves up some tasty, home-cooked grub. Take a look:
At 43.6 miles, the Tanglefoot Trail is the longest rail-trail in Mississippi. It’s also one of the most popular, attracting people from around the globe.
The trail runs from Houston, MS to New Albany, MS, and is paved/improved throughout, making it suitable for walking, biking, and skating. It’s also wheelchair accessible.
In addition to a display case stocked with fast food eats, such as foot-long corn dogs, pizza sticks, and chicken on a stick, the store serves up breakfast as well as plate lunches.
A great place to refuel, the store’s fare is basically an ode to good ol’ country cooking, and includes things like catfish, hushpuppies, BBQ, and even dough burgers.
