As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
If you’ve lived in Washington longer than about five minutes or you’re a big fan of drinking wine, you already know that Walla Walla is an incredible local destination. Recently voted America’s Best Wine Region in USA Today, it’s a beautiful place to visit and sip award-winning vino, feast on mouthwatering cuisine, and enjoy a slower pace of life while still having access to big-city amenities.
But if you’re looking for a more laid back and relaxing getaway where you can have all of those things without leaving the property, you’ll love Abeja Winery & Inn.
You'll find the tranquil, rural Abeja property on Mill Creek Road on the outskirts of the city, in the foothills of the Blue Mountains.
It all started when founders Ken and Ginger Harrison arrived in the late 1990s and searched for land suitable for planting world-class Cabernet Sauvignon.

When the Harrisons found this property, it captured their hearts. They committed to restoring the farmstead and turning it into a unique local destination.
And now, Abeja is far more than a vineyard and winery. It's an event space where weddings and milestone celebrations are held (when conditions allow), and a bed & breakfast with some rather unique overnight accommodations.

The wine itself is phenomenal, and the list includes both reds and whites.
Abeja means bee in Spanish, and this property was named not only for the many wonderful employees ("worker bees") who work hard to keep things looking pristine but the actual bees that flock to the lavender in the garden when it's in season.
Want to spend the night? The Inn at Abeja can host you in a lavish suite, the massive farmhouse, or a cozy cottage.
