1. Take a hike through some of Alabama's most spectacular fall colors.
There are several places in Alabama that are perfect for a fall hike, including Little River Canyon National Preserve in Fort Payne. This scenic preserve, which is pictured above, offers lots of colorful foliage and some pretty amazing trails.
2. Visit one of Alabama's pumpkin patches.
Not many fall attractions can compare to a pumpkin patch. Alabama is home to several pumpkin patches that offer endless fun for the entire family, including The Great Pumpkin Patch in Hayden.
3. Get lost in a corn maze.
Over the years, corn mazes have become quite popular here in Alabama. There are several located throughout the state during the fall season, including some that are even haunted.

Cheaha Mountain, which is surrounded by the Talladega National Forest, is Alabama's highest natural point. It offers one of the state's most incredible views, especially this time of year.
7. Go mountain biking, horseback riding, and camping in Alabama's largest state park.
Oak Mountain State Park, Alabama's largest state park, is a great place to visit year-round, especially during the fall season. The weather is much cooler this time of year, so park guests are more comfortable participating in activities such as mountain biking, horseback riding, camping, etc.
8. Take a drive across one of Alabama's historic covered bridges.
Alabama is home to several covered bridges, including the historic Swann Covered Bridge (pictured) in Cleveland. Spanning nearly 330 feet, it's the state's longest covered bridge.
9. Spend a day climbing massive boulders at Horse Pens 40.
Horse Pens 40 is an outdoor nature park that's located in Steele, Alabama. It offers one of the Southeast's top bouldering opportunities. Bouldering is very similar to rock climbing, except no harness or rope is required. Only a crash pad.
