Olympic National Park is a mystical, magical place we’re so lucky to have in our beautiful state. The diverse landscapes, multiple ecosystems, and nearly one million acres of wilderness are extremely impressive. The beaches are especially stunning, spanning miles and miles of rugged coastline. The Kalaloch 4th Beach Trail is a fantastic place to go when you feel like walking next to the ocean for awhile.

You'll find the Kalaloch 4th Beach Trail about halfway between Ruby Beach and Kalaloch Lodge, near the town of Forks.

This trail isn't as well-known as some of the other coastal hikes in the park, so you just might enjoy a nice, quiet nature walk with no one else in sight.
The trail is just under a mile in length, perfect for beginners and seasoned hikers alike.

This is a short, easy hike, but it's also incredibly scenic.

The path to the beach is boardwalked, so it's a pretty simple descent to the sea.
When you visit, make sure to come during low tide -- the tide pools are out of this world.

They expose all sorts of marine life, from giant green anemone to mussels, barnacles, and even purple starfish.
The shoreline is temping to look at. But if you glance further off shore, you might see of the Destruction Island Lighthouse from 1889.

You'll also be near the Tree of Life, the infamous Tree Root Cave.
This little trail eventually leads to a marine wildlife preserve that is part of the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary.
